As believers, honor is to be our lifestyle and culture. We are to honor all men regardless of status just like our Lord Jesus modeled to us. Jesus showed honor even to the lowest of the lows in society and never discriminated against anyone. Likewise, we are to honor all men regardless of station. 1 Peter 2:17 says: “Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.”
As Christians, the Bible makes us understand how much God values a soul and that everyone is equal in the sight of God. So if God values a soul so much, who are we to take anyone for granted. Honor goes both upwards and downwards. Both to our superiors and subordinates. When we honor people, we sow a seed of honor that will germinate blessings in our lives. God is a rewarder, and when we honor people, we will also reap honor from people around us.
Everyday, we encounter opportunities to honor people both above and below us. These are tests of honor that hold the key to potential blessings. When we pass these tests, the doors of favour and increase are opened towards us. Honor gives us the opportunity to take from people what they don’t intend to give. When we make honor our daily lifestyle, the blessings and favour of God will never depart from our life. SHALOM!
CONFESSION
Father, I make a decision to honor all men daily from today henceforth. I do not show discrimination in giving honor, as I honor those above and below me in Jesus Name. Amen.
