“For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him.” [John 3:17 AMPC]
God does not prioritise judgment and condemnation over mercy, help and salvation. Somehow, persons more easily associate the person of God with wrath and judgment. The presumption is that at all times, God stands about with a condescending frown and an unsheathed sword, ready to smite all wrongdoers. Beloved, this is an evil misconception that could not be further away from the truth. Jesus, at all times, is interested in and obsessed with the salvation of the people of the world.
Jesus said in John 16:33 “…in the world, you have tribulations and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world.”
Now, through this scripture, we come to the understanding that we live in a world that is often dominated by troubles and trials. We have not been presented with a doctrine or truth which claims that we shall be exempted from troubles because we have been saved, NO! In fact, Jesus says that there shall be tribulations and trials even though we have been saved. However, that statement did not end there; we have been admonished by the Lord to receive courage from His words and His works; for HE HAS OVERCOME THE WORLD AND ALL THE TROUBLES IN IT, FOR YOU; You will not overcome because you are skilled at overcoming but because Jesus, our everlasting saviour HAS ALREADY OVERCOME THE WORLD.
Therefore friends, take heed, whatever the situation or circumstance may be, whatever season you might find yourself, always remember that you have Jesus, your Saviour who is always ready, available and who came to be the solution to that exact situation which you find yourself. In all seasons, good, bad or worse, you have a saviour and He will never leave nor forsake you, SHALOM!
