We pray that you’ll live well for the Master, making Him proud of you as you work hard in His orchard. As you learn more and more how God works, you will learn how to do your work. [Colossians 1:10 MSSG]
Martin Luther King once said “an individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity”. God desires for us to see that our lives are not our own, that we were bought with a price, that we are here for a reason and that our lives have infinite value and worth. Therefore, we must live out this divine purpose by seeing beyond ourselves and spreading our arms open in stewardship to others.
Paul knew that God had ordained him for a divine purpose and all he wanted was to live in the absolute center of that purpose. Because of this, he surrendered his life with reckless abandon to God. We should understand that we are reflectors of the living God and we either reflect Him accurately or we reflect Him inaccurately by the way we talk, by the way we dress and live every aspect of life. Whether you like it or not, whether you want it or not, you’re reflecting something to everybody who knows you.
True greatness lies in serving others. Therefore, live to serve. “The Son of Man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister.” Matthew 20:28. We are not saved by serving, but we are saved for serving. How many times do we walk by someone’s troubles without even giving a thought to rolling up our sleeves and getting involved? Our lives are meant to offer relief from the heat and shelter from the storm to those who need it.
As you step out today, share God’s love with everyone and never attach yourself to those who look down on others. Keep your heart for God and He will direct you to live a life that counts. SHALOM
CONFESSION
Heavenly Father, thank You that You have called me not only to be Your child but also to tell as many people as I can about Your love for me and for them. I ask that You help me to truly live a life that counts and show forth Your glory. Let my life produce every kind of good fruit as I grow more in the knowledge of you. AMEN
