The altar of sacrifice has always been a prominent and essential part of the temple from biblical days. God has always been, and will always be a respecter of sacrifice. The bible shows that there is a direct correlation between sacrifice and blessing.
Under the new covenant, our lord Jesus Christ became our perfect sacrifice and gave us permanent access into the presence of God, but the principles of God are everlasting and the power of sacrifice is still relevant today. There are no shortcuts to the blessing. The only way to reach the blessings beyond the altar is through sacrifice. Exodus 20:24 says, “An altar of earth you shall make for Me, and you shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I record My name I will come to you, and I will bless you”. Whenever we bring forth our sacrifices, God answers our prayers speedily. The altar of sacrifice is a place of transformation and supernatural turnaround. Our worship, is a major altar of sacrifice, for God delights in our praises, and when praises go up, blessings come down (Hebrews 13:15). Our giving is another major altar of sacrifice. The bible commands us to give so that we can receive (Hebrews 13:16). Finally, we are also to present our lives as a living sacrifice to God, as our body is his temple and we are created to live for his glory ( Romans 12:1).
When we lay forth our prayers on the altar of sacrifice, we gain direct access into God’s presence and our needs are speedily met. Present your altar of sacrifice to God today, for it is God’s will for us. SHALOM!
