The food of faith is principally found in the Word of God. Building our faith daily in the Word of God, is of utmost necessity for every believer. The Bible let’s us know that without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:16). Meaning that faith is a necessity and not just an option in the Kingdom of God, as we received salvation and righteousness by faith and have also been called to live by faith (Habakkuk 2:4).
The Bible reveals in Romans 10:17 that: “faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of God”. The word ‘hearing’ in the above scripture is not referring to merely listening to the Word of God. It refers to us receiving a specific Word from God, for specific purposes and in specific moments. These are the Words that will build us up, cause effective changes in our lives and in any situation. These Words transcend the Words on the pages of the bible. They can be called ‘Ministering Words or Rhema’. These Words are given to build us up in faith. They could come from meditating on the written Word, anointed preaching and predominantly the voice of the Holy Spirit. It is worthy to note that ‘Rhema or Ministering Words’ can never contradict God’s Word, rather, they confirm the Word of God that are written on the pages of the Bible.
It is rightly said; that no man is as unstoppable as a man who has heard God. When we receive a personal Word from God, is stirs up great faith in us, as we know that God’s Word never fails. Studying and meditating on the Word of God should be the daily lifestyle of every believer. The Holy Spirit in us brings the Word we read to life in us and speaks through it. As we search the scriptures today, our faith is being built up, as the Word becomes life to us. SHALOM!
As I study the Word of God today, it speaks life over every situation in my life. I receive the specific Word from God to grow my faith today, in Jesus Name. Amen
