THE JOY OF SALVATION

God is very intentional about the souls of men, as they are very precious in His sight. When we win souls for the kingdom, the entire heaven rejoices. Luke 15:7 says: “I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” The value of a single soul in God’s eye is even worth more than the entire world (Mark 8:36)

Joy can be said to be a continuous state of happiness or cheerfulness. To the world, joy is based on circumstances or pleasant situations but to a Child of God, joy is a fruit. it is not dependent on what is happening around us because it is what we have received as part of the salvation package.

The salvation of a soul brings eternal joy to the saved and also spreads that joy to heaven as the salvation of a person is the only reason recorded in Scriptures as the cause for celebration in heaven. When a person receives salvation, they also receives the Spirit of God and where the Spirit of God is, there is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11). Therefore, it is inconsistent with the nature of a believer to experience depression. In order to spread this joy of God, we must be intentional in our soul winning efforts, as it is only in salvation that one can enjoy the fullness of the joy and life of God. SHALOM!
