Prayer is communication with God and God just like any father expects His Children to bring their requests to Him. However, God is holy and detests sin, so to effectively communicate with Him one has to be free of sin (righteous). Christ died to free us from the bondage of sin and make us righteous, therefore, every born-again believer has been made righteous by faith in Jesus and is free to enter into the presence of God and have fellowship with Him.
When believers pray, much power is made available. James 5:16b says: “The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous makes tremendous power available”. This means that when righteous person prays fervently, they see tremendous results. It therefore imperative that God prioritizes the prayer of the righteous, in contrast to the prayer of a sinner, which is an abomination unto Him(1 Peter 3:12). A righteous man is one who has been saved by the grace of God and we are saved through faith, by believing that our sins have been paid for.
So many believers find it difficult to pray after committing some wrong deeds, because of the condemnation that comes with guilt. However, the Bible tells us in Hebrews 4:16 to come boldly to the Throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. It is therefore our privilege to pray bold prayers with full assurance that we will get results because we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. As we go about our daily lives, we must exercise the power of the Prayer of the Righteous and effect tremendous positive change in our lives, careers, families, nation and the world at large. This is our calling; bringing forth the manifestation of the sons of God. SHALOM!
I receive the grace for fervent and effectual prayer. From today I live a life of prayer, effecting tremendous change in my life and in my world at large, In Jesus Name. Amen.
