The Covenant Advantage (Part 1): Why Understanding God's Covenant Changes Everything

Text: Genesis 17:7; Hebrews 8:6; Psalm 89:34

Many people view Christianity as a religion of traditions, church activities, personal devotion, or moral principles. Others believe the growth of a church depends on branding, marketing strategies, innovation, or organizational excellence. While these things may have their place, they are not the true foundation upon which God builds His Church.

The Christian faith is much deeper than religion. At its core, Christianity is a covenant relationship between God and His people. Throughout the Bible, God consistently reveals Himself as a covenant-making and covenant-keeping God. From Genesis to Revelation, every major stage of biblical history is connected through divine covenants that reveal God’s faithfulness and establish His relationship with humanity.

This understanding is essential because many believers have gradually lost sight of the significance of God’s covenant. As a result, they often approach God based on feelings, circumstances, or personal efforts rather than on the certainty of His unchanging promises.

Purpose of This Teaching Series

This teaching series has three important objectives.

First, it seeks to reveal the true character of God as the Covenant Maker and Covenant Keeper.

Second, it aims to strengthen every believer’s confidence in God’s integrity by demonstrating that every promise He makes is trustworthy because He is faithful to His covenant.

Third, it encourages believers to anchor their lives in God’s unbreakable covenant rather than in changing circumstances, emotions, or human ability.
