PRAYER

Jesus promises to always hear, always answer, and always be good to us

KEY VERSE

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

Jeremiah 33:3

Next Steps

Prayer and Bible reading go really well together. If you’re struggling to begin praying, why not pray every time you read your Bible? This is a great way to begin getting some momentum in your prayer life. Watch our foundations video on the Bible here.

Why not talk to a Next Steps person/Foundation class leader/someone who has been a Christian for a while, about their experience of prayer? Ask them about any tips they have, about their struggles and discoveries about praying.

If praying out loud for you is a difficult thing, the only way to overcome that is to try it, and keep trying. Share your struggle in your Foundation class or with a friend. People will encourage you and cheer you on as you step out and try something new.

One of the best ways to pray is just to thank God for all the things he’s given to you. Thank him for Jesus, for forgiveness, for church, for your family, your job; the list can go on and on.

In the Bible, Jesus’ followers asked him to teach them how to pray. Even they needed some help! You can read his reply in Matthew 6:9-13.
