SERVING THE LORD

To serve is to perform a duty for someone, or for the purpose of something. Serving the Lord entails devoting your heart, time, strength and resources to His will. In serving God, we must uphold godliness wherever we find ourselves: at home, at work, in church etc. We must always have reverence for God whether anyone is watching or not. To love God is to obey His instructions. John‬ ‭14:15‬ ‭says:  “If you love Me, keep My commandments.”

Most believers see servitude to God as a huge inconvenience and as such shy away from it. Truly, serving God comes with a lot of inconveniences for a growing believer, because we are putting God’s desires before our own. However, that is the instruction of God and as a reward for serving Him, He makes our lives beautiful. Exodus 23:25 says: "So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.”
‭‭

Jesus Christ—our perfect model—when He was on earth, displayed great act of servitude towards the multitude and His disciples. Believers must be willing and able to serve, because everything we desire as believers is embedded in great service. SHALOM!
