SERVICE AS UNTO GOD
Service unto God requires total submission to Him. Romans 12:1 says: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” Service to God requires absolute obedience to His Word.
Some Believers are reluctant when it comes to serving God, or some serve God in some ways and don’t serve him in others; however, service has to be complete—that is, with your time, strength and resources. Colossians 3:23-24 says: “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”
Most believers have doubts about serving God because it appears that serving God doesn't pay quickly. But indeed it pays to serve Jesus. God is a rewarder, and He recognizes those who serve Him. He is an all-knowing God, and places our reward in the areas of our life we need them most, be it financially, maritally physically, spiritually etc. 1 Corinthians 15:58 says: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” God promised in His Word that He will never abandon those who serve Him (Exodus 23:25). Be diligent in your service to the Most High today and in time your reward shall surely come. SHALOM!
