HOLDING FAST TO HIS PROMISES

The life of every believer is filled with challenges, so holding fast to the promises of God is vital. God’s Word provides believers with hope, strength, and guidance. It is replete with numerous promises and assurances of comfort to those who place their trust in God. Numbers 23:19 says: “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?".

The foundation of God’s Word indeed stands sure! In times when we are faced with despair, holding fast to the promises of God can provide a source of unwavering hope and encouragement. God promises in Isaiah 41:10: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." This promise reminds us that we are never alone in our struggles and that God is there to support and guide us.

The promises of God are not only functional in difficult times. God’s Word also provides an assurance of guidance and discernment for decision-making. Proverbs 3:5-6 says: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” The promise of God is an anchor for the believer; by embracing and applying these promises to our lives, we can find hope, guidance, and transformation (Jeremiah 29:11).
