PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT

The Bible has always emphasized the importance of prayer in men and women of faith. Luke 18:1 says: “Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,”. Christians ought to pray: prayer is like a device we must use frequently in order to build our spiritual life.

Praying in the spirit is a trait (gift) that is spontaneously received by the believer, the moment we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:4 says: "All of them were filled with the Holy spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the spirit enabled them." This singular practice of glossolalia by Spirit-filled believers sets the tone for the spiritual realm and builds up the praying altar of the believer.

When it comes to praying, one must always pray in the Spirit. By praying in the Spirit, we utter mysteries; words that are unfathomable and above human comprehension. 1Corinthians 14:2 says: "For anyone who speaks in tongues does not speak for people but to God. Indeed no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the spirit.” Praying in the spirit edifies the Spirit, it sanctifies the soul, and it nourishes the spiritual mind. SHALOM!

CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank You for the Holy Spirit. Today, I ask for the in-filling of the Holy Spirit, and the divine enablement to pray by the Spirit of God in Jesus name. Amen.
